Meet the Founder: Dr. K. V. Krishna Kumar

Dr. K. V. Krishna Kumar, fondly known as K.K. Sir by his students, is the visionary behind Kaizen Academy. Formerly an Assistant Professor at IIM (previously NITIE) Mumbai, Dr. Krishna Kumar’s academic credentials are exemplary: B.E. (Honors) from BITS Pilani, M.Tech and Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. His illustrious career in education spans over three decades, during which he has mentored thousands of students.

Dr. Krishna Kumar’s teaching philosophy is rooted in his belief that every student is unique and capable of achieving greatness through hard work. He emphasizes mindful preparation, focusing on building confidence and clarity rather than succumbing to the stress often associated with competitive exam preparation.

Beyond academics, Dr. Krishna Kumar is a proud father of two successful children: Akhila Kakani, who works at Google San Francisco and is an MBA Gold Medalist, and Avinash Kakani, who works at McKinsey Bengaluru and is an IIIT Hyderabad alumnus. His personal achievements are equally inspiring. At 63, he continues to radiate positive energy, with his recent accomplishment being Rank 7 in the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (A.P. ICET) in 2018, competing against 48,635 students.

Dr. Krishna Kumar’s unwavering passion for education and his commitment to student success remain at the heart of Kaizen Academy’s enduring legacy.
